Israeli domain (.il): suffixes, eligibility and availability

A map of Israel's country-code domain, with a checker for the name you want.

What is an Israeli domain?

An Israeli domain is a domain name under Israel's country-code top-level domain .il. The registry is managed by ISOC-IL; since 2016 registration is made through its accredited registrars only (apart from k12.il, which ISOC-IL handles directly).

The .il suffixes

How to check whether an Israeli domain is available

Type the name in the checker: it answers .co.il and .com together, and can also check the other .il suffixes. A name found in the local dataset is shown as TAKEN immediately; everything else is confirmed with a live DNS lookup. Treat AVAILABLE as a strong hint and confirm it with an official WHOIS lookup before registering.

Hebrew domain names

According to the ISOC-IL registration rules (v1.11), on 19 May 2020 ISOC-IL suspended registration of Hebrew domain names under .il, as part of preparing a Hebrew country-code domain; names registered before that date continue to work. Check ISOC-IL for the current status.
